Good News For One Who Tips Delivery Drivers
In a move to support delivery drivers, Domino’s Pizza is rolling out a new promotion called the ‘You Tip, We Tip’ initiative. The newly rolled scheme will be effective from April 29, 2024. Dominos becomes the first quick-service restaurant to implement this.
What Is Domino’s ‘You Tip, We Tip’ Initiative?
Under this newly rolled scheme, customers who tip their delivery drivers online will receive a $3 discount on their next online delivery purchase the following week.
Where Will This Offer Be Availed?
This special offer is exclusive to Domino’s ordering channels.
What Is The Motive To Launch This Initiative?
This promotion’s primary goal is to support Domino’s delivery drivers.
Company’s Challenge
The company has been grappling with challenges in maintaining adequate labor levels, particularly within its driver workforce. By introducing this tipping incentive, Domino’s aims to enhance employee support and retention.
What Officials Say?
This is the first-of-its-kind scheme and it becomes the first quick-service restaurant to enable customers to tip their drivers.
Kate Trumbull, Domino’s senior vice president and chief brand officer, expressed excitement about the campaign, stating, “Domino’s drivers have been hustling to deliver hot, delicious pizzas since 1960, and we love that customers have been tipping them for their great service since day one. But these days, everywhere you go, there’s a tip screen. The pressure to tip is real, even when no extra service is provided. So, we decided to flip the script and show our appreciation by tipping customers back.”
New Labour Tool
This initiative is part of Domino’s broader efforts to improve workforce management. Towards the end of 2023, the company announced plans to launch a new labor tool alongside an existing forecasting tool to enhance scheduling and flexibility for its employees, as reported by Nation’s Restaurant News.
