Intel, the renowned computer chip manufacturer, has appointed Santhosh Viswanathan as the Managing Director (MD) for its India region business. With a commendable 21-year tenure at Intel, Viswanathan brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
India Designated as Separate Region within Intel’s Structure
In a strategic move reflecting India’s rapid growth and burgeoning business opportunities, Intel announced India as a distinct region within its Sales, Marketing, and Communications Group (SMG) organization earlier this year. “In March this year, Intel announced India as a separate region within its SMG (Sales, Marketing and Communications Group) organisation, to capitalise on the country’s rapid growth and business opportunities. Santhosh Viswanathan, VP and MD-India region will lead the newly formed region, leveraging his expertise to drive value and customer-centricity,” Intel said.
Transition Marks a New Phase for Intel in India
Having assumed the position of Vice President and Managing Director for the Indian market in July 2022, Viswanathan now steps into an expanded role as the head of the newly formed India region. His deep understanding of the Indian market and proven track record position him well to drive value and customer-centric initiatives in this critical region.
Strengthening Leadership in Asia Pacific and Japan
In addition to Viswanathan’s appointment, Intel has named Hans Chuang as the General Manager (GM) of SMG Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). Based in Taiwan, Chuang will be responsible for overseeing Intel’s business across the APJ region, focusing on revenue growth, fostering new opportunities, and enhancing relationships with customers and partners.
