SydeLabs, an AI Security & Risk Management startup, has secured a seed funding round of $2.5 million to bolster solutions aimed at safeguarding Generative AI systems for enterprises. Led by RTP Global, the funding round also witnessed contributions from Picus Capital and prominent angel investors.

Amid mounting concerns among policymakers and business leaders worldwide regarding the security risks associated with Generative AI, SydeLabs’ initiative comes at a crucial juncture. The company’s comprehensive suite of AI security and Risk Management solutions is tailored to address emerging threats in this domain.

Founded by cybersecurity expert Ruchir Patwa and seasoned product leader Ankita Kumari, SydeLabs is committed to enhancing the safety and resilience of AI applications. Leveraging Patwa’s extensive background in cybersecurity, including leadership roles at Google and Mobile Premier League, and Kumari’s expertise in product leadership and risk management gained from firms like McKinsey & Company and CRED, the company aims to fortify enterprise AI systems against cybersecurity attacks and abuse.

Ankita Kumari, co-founder at SydeLabs said: “While we were working on solving security and fraud-led business problems, we saw how business growth and profitability was fuelled by the adoption of risk mitigation measures, despite these measures usually being seen as cost sinks. We also see the reputational risk emerging with adoption of GenAI systems that can generate undesirable content which can cause harm to a brand, loss of goodwill and further legal risk”

SydeLabs’ mission revolves around identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in real-time, thereby bolstering the security posture of AI-driven enterprises.
